The SABC North West announces the appointment of Katlego Mokhele as the new Motsweding FM’s Station Manager Mokhele who has been acting in the position since April 2015 was officially confirmed as the successful candidate following a competitive race to take over the reins at the Setswana medium.

The 31 year old Mokhele joined the SABC’s Corporate Marketing division as an intern in 2006 and moved to SABC Africa as a Marketing Consultant and an SABC Education Brand Manager in 2010.

In the same year, he was seconded to Motsweding FM as the Acting Marketing Manager, and then left the station to take on the role of an SABC Radio Group Brand Manager. Recently before joining Motsweding FM, he was working as a Project Manager in the Office of the General Manager: PBS Radio.

“Motsweding FM has experienced some challenges regarding a loss of audience share and popular names have also left the station. These are not new challenges to a station that has weathered change with pride and gumption over the last 53 years”.

“I look forward to meeting these challenges head on with the support of a team of dynamic people who come to work every day to deliver compelling and entertaining content to our listeners,” Mokhele said.

He adds that it has always been fulfilling to work for the public broadcaster, an environment he enjoys immensely.

“I will be focusing on supporting my programming team to ensure we deliver the best in radio content. I will also use my experience and work closely with the marketing team to uphold the brand’s core purpose,” Mokhele said.
