Hartswater deadly car crash case postponed

Hartswater- A case against a driver who was arrested after a deadly accident that left 15 people dead, was postponed on Monday by Hartswater Magistrate Court.

Elias Morebudi,66, appeared briefly before Hartswater Magistrate Court after he allegedly killed 15 people in a fatal accident in Magogong village, Taung.

The deadly accident took place on Saturday when Morebudi failed to adhere to the stop sign and allegedly ploughed into a taxi.

Morebudi’s nephew, Eric Sepato poured out his sincere message to all affected families.

“We would like to apologise to all bereaved families and as the family of the accused our heartfelt condolences goes out to them. We are all into this and hopeful Almighty will give them serenity” Eric Sepato said.

Morebudi was granted a R3000 bail which his family agreed to, but will only pay it at the later stage.

The case was postponed until 22 October 2014 and police investigations continue.-TDN
