Pudumoe- A 24 year-old man was released on a warning by Taung Magistrate Court after heappeared for GBH Assault and Child-kidnapping.

Monnapula Molefe,24, was allegedly embroiled in an argument with his girlfriend and that led to a fight. Molefe allegedly engaged in an argument with his girlfriend after a drinking spree and that precipitated to a fight.

He allegedly hauled stones at other revelers who tried to calm situation down.

“A 24 year-old man appeared briefly before Taung Magistrate Court after he was charged with child-kidnapping and GBH assault. He was granted a free bail and will be back in court on the 01 October 2014” Pudumoe Police Station spokesperson Tebogo Thebe said.

Our crew spoke to Monnapula Molefe who was in hurry after he was released and he had this to say “I was arrested last week after a fight ensued between my girlfriend and I. I am working in Vryburg and my girlfriend left me there to go to Pudumoe where we stay. On my arrival, I found her drinking while sitting with my baby. I told her to leave, but she did not want to listen” Molefe said.

According to Molefe, a fight erupted between both of them [Molefe and his girlfriend] and some of revelers tried to beat him up.

“I started throwing stones at them and unfortunately an off-duty police officer was injured on his elbow. Now I have to go back to work now” he said.

Police investigations continue and Molefe will be back in court on 01 October 2014.-TDN
