Taung-A case of rape against a Maphoitsile village man, Tshetlhe Montsheng was postponed by Taung Magistrate Court.
Tshetlhe Montsheng,24, was arrested a month ago after he allegedly raped a 86 year-old gogo in Maphoitsile village.
Police said Montsheng allegedly pounced on an unsuspecting gogo while asleep in her bedroom. The daughter of gogo was woken-up by the screams and went to observe.
The daughter allegedly saw the suspect in her mother’s bedroom and he fled the scene through the window. The community launched a man-hunt and arrested a 24 year-old.
He was apprehended and handed-over to police.
The suspect appeared before magistrate court and the case was postponed after he requested a legal aid lawyer, however Montsheng backtrack on his decision to apply for bail.
The case was postponed until the 19 May 2014.
