Police are warning the public around the Groot Marico and Swartruggens area to be on the lookout for a strain Leopard that was seen around the area.

The animal was spotted during the early hours of Monday, 2 June 2012, at about 5:40 on the N4 Road.

The Leopard believed to have escaped from one of the farms that are around the Sterkstroom area

“Police would like the public to be cautious and if the leopard is spotted, please inform the local Police or Nature Conservation Authorities. Do no attempt to catch the leopard as it is a dangerous animal that can kill” Brigadier Ngubane said.
