A 53 year-old woman was allegedly attacked by her neighbour after a quarrel. Julia Mokgweetsi(53) was lying in hospital where she recalled the moment Jabu Letebele attacked her.

According to Mokgweetsi, the argument erupted between her and Letebele on Saturday(28 March 2015) and Letebele went wild and grabbed a pang where he allegedly hacked her hand.

“We had an argument with Letebele who is my neighbour and that led to a fight. He grabbed a panga and hacked my hand off” Mokgweetsi said.

North West police spokesperson, colonel Emelda Setlhako said the suspect was arrested and a case of attempted murder was opened at Taung Police Station.

“We opened an attempted murder case against the suspect after he allegedly hacked a woman with panga. Police investigation continues and the suspect was remanded in custody for further investigations” Setlhako said.
