Another suspect linked to Robocop project arrested in Jan Kempdorp

In continuous efforts to put behind bars alleged fraudsters and robbers, the Provincial Organised and Commercial Crimes members in North West, have arrested three more suspects, as part of bringing to book the outstanding project, Robocop suspects.

The North West police spokesperson, Col Adele Myburgh said the first two suspects were arrested in Ventersdorp and Vryburg respectively on 30 April 2024. Myburgh said as a result, the duo, Raselane Kaweni (44) and Seuntjie Yman (31), briefly appeared in the Vryburg Magistrate’s Court on 2 May 2024. 

“They were remanded in custody until 6 May 2024. In another arrest, the determined team apprehended a man (53) in Jan Kempdorp on 2 May 2024. The suspect is linked to 10 separate cases of robbery aggravating, kidnapping and extortion, which were allegedly committed at Huhudi Township, between November 2020 and August 2022.  

“The suspect is due to appear in the Vryburg Magistrate’s Court today. The arrest brings the number of arrested suspects since the termination of Project Robocop to 18,” she said.

Meanwhile, the North West Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, applauded the police for their concerted efforts to ensure that alleged perpetrators are brought to book.
