North West-The police arrested a total of 750 suspects through various day to day operations in the past seven days between 16 and 23 February 2014 for Contact, Contact related, Property related and other crimes.

The arrests include 7 for Murder, 30 for Rape,183 for Assault common as well as Assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, 15 for fraud, 31 for shoplifting, 21 for driving under the influence of liquor, 36 undocumented persons and many other crimes.  

“The following were also seized during operations: 3 vehicles, 36 cell phones, various types of drugs and  illegal cigarettes” sergeant Kealeboga Molale.

Molale said most of the suspects have already appeared in various courts while others are expected to appear Monday, 24 February 2014.-TDN
