Itumeleng Khune has promised that the tables will turn this weekend in the Carling Black Label as Kaizer Chiefs seek to end Orlando Pirates’ domination in this season-opening competition.

The two giants of South African football square off at FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with Pirates hoping to complete a hat-trick of triumphs that will see them keep this trophy forever.

Khune is going with the ‘third time lucky’ mantra as Chiefs aim to get their name on the trophy for the first time.

“As a player you want to be on the winning side every time you play a match and it is no different this weekend,” ‘Spiderkid’ says.

“I have been on the losing side twice before and that is not good at all for me. It makes me feel like I haven’t done enough for the club.

“But then again, this is not all about me as an individual, but the team because we all have to go out there with one goal and one thing on our minds … that we have to get that gold medal and obviously to bring the trophy into the club’s cabinet.

“We all want to win the gold and this coming weekend tables will turn and Chiefs will take home the gold.”

Khune got the most votes for the third year running and will start between the posts for Chiefs on Saturday.
