The ongoing situation of public violence in Mahikeng, Moshawaneng and extension 38 has led to the arrest of 15 people have been arrested between yesterday and today.
This occurred after the community of Mahikeng went on a rampage demanding service delivery and the situation went out of control when in extension 38 where a local councillors house was set alight.
The house that belongs to the local councillor in that ward, the police went to that house and the fire emergency was also informed but the house was burned to ashes.
The Police opened a case of arson and started with investigation
The community of extension 38 are allegedly complaining about service delivery.
At about 16:00 the councillor reported that kids around extension 38 were stoning passing by vehicle and barricading the roads. Police were summoned to the area and they are currently monitoring the situation.
“The suspects will appear on different charges, ranging from arson, public violence this also includes malicious damage to property. The 15 suspects will appear in Mahikeng magistrate court on Monday 18 June 2012″Brigadier Ngubane said.
