Six people were injured during an accident on the N1, towards Bloemfontein, approximately fifteen kilometres from the Val Plaza near Parys in the Free State.

Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a motor vehicle had left the roadway, overturned several times and came to a standstill  on its side.

“Upon assessment of the six occupants, paramedics found that one person sustained critical injuries, four people sustained serious injuries and one person sustained minor to moderate injuries,” Santi Steinmann said.

She said the injured patients were treated at the scene and transported to hospital for further medical care and treatment.

“Exact detail surrounding the cause of the rollover accident and preceding events are unclear and will remain the subject of a police investigation,” Steinmann concludes.
