A man sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for robbery and murder

A man (20) was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by the Keimoes Regional Court for robbery and murder. On 9 November 2019, the police were summoned to a robbery and murder scene at Gamakor, where a man with a stab wound to his upper body was reported dead. 

The ZF Mgcawu District police spokesperson, Sergeant Omphile Masegela said the deceased became known as Mondry Adriaan Blom (20) from Sonskyn Street in Keimoes.

“At that stage, the suspect was unknown, and with two weeks of intense investigation, a breakthrough was made with the arrest of two suspects. They were both released on bail until the time of conviction. Niklaas Williams (30) pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 15 years of direct imprisonment.

“The meticulous investigation by Detective Sergeant Piet Eiman was commended by the management of the police in the Northern Cape,” she said.
