14 July 2025- The Public Order Police (POP) in Kimberley have arrested seven individuals, including one minor for alleged public violence. The police said the suspects were arrested on the N8 near Greenpoint on 14 July 2025.
The Northern Cape police spokesperson, Colonel Cherelle Ehlers said the police continue to monitor the volatile situation. Ehlers said motorists are urged to proceed with caution and use alternative routes where possible.
“Additionally, the SAPS urge residents to refrain from posting unverified social media posts. The SAPS will issue verified statements on official platforms,” she said.
