Gauteng Boys and Girls were crowned 2024 Champions of the U15 National Championships, which was held at Sturrock Park from 9-10 August 2024. Both teams beat their Kwazulu Natal counterparts 1-0 each in the final, which unearthed some exceptional talent that South Africa had at its disposal.

SAFA scouts were very impressed with the growth in the provincial structures and managed to select players that will go on to do wonders for South Africa.

SAFA Technical Director, Walter Steenbok said that the tournament was a huge success and the partnership between the South African Football Association (SAFA), Department of Sport, Arts and Culture and the National Schools Championships, showed that Football development is alive.

“We were blessed with beautiful football this weekend and we are very confident that we will be sending two excellent squads to Namibia for the CAF African Schools Championships next month.

“We are so excited of how much talent there is in the country, and we can’t wait to see where these players will end up in the next few years. Thank you to all the partners that supported this tournament,” he said.
