Two suspects aged 19 and 30, were arrested for being in possession of suspected stolen goods. This comes after a swift response by the police in Kakamas on Thursday.
The ZF Mgcawu District police spokesperson, Sergeant Omphile Masegela said the police recovered the items that were stolen during a burglary. She said a case of burglary was reported to the police and following that, the police received a tip-off regarding an alleged location, where the stolen items could be kept.
“They followed up on it and two suspects were found in possession of the stolen goods. The duo was arrested for possession of suspected stolen goods.
“Meanwhile, in another case, the police were informed by one of the residents in Kakamas that, an unknown person who came looking for accommodation, left the bags in the house which produced a strong smell and when they inspected, they found dagga.
“The police confiscated 12.05kg of dagga, which was booked in as found property. The police appreciated the integrity of the community members and encouraged society at large to stand against illegal activities by reporting all actions to the police,” said Masegela.
