A man sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for murder

A man sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by the Keimoes Regional Court for murder. This comes after the police in Keimoes, attended to a robbery and murder scene at Gamakor, where a man was reported dead with a stab wound to his upper body on 9 November 2019. 

The deceased was identified as Mondry Adriaan Blom (20) from Sonskyn Street in Keimoes.

ZF Mgcawu District police spokesperson, Sgt Omphile Masegela said at that stage, the suspect was unknown, and with two weeks of intense investigation, a breakthrough was made with the arrest of a suspect. Masegela said the accused was released on bail until the time of conviction. 

ā€œAn accused, Niklaas Williams (30) pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 15 years of direct imprisonment. The meticulous investigation by Detective Sergeant, Piet Eiman was commended by the management of the SAPS in the Northern Cape,ā€ she said.
