Three suspects aged between 30 and 52, were nabbed for being in possession of drugs during Operation Vala Umgodi in Pampierstad. The suspects were allegedly arrested by the illicit mining multi-disciplinary team after searching identified houses allegedly involved in drug related activities in Pampierstad on Friday 31 May 2024.
The Northern Cape police spokesperson, Sergeant Molefi Shemane said during the execution of searches, police apprehended three suspects in different locations in Pampierstad for possession of drugs.
“Drugs with an estimated street value of R22 560 and money believed to be the proceeds of crime were also confiscated.
“An inquiry was also opened after a blank pistol, ammunition and a magazine was found in the possession of a Bangladesh national (50) in Pampierstad. The suspects will appear in Court soon,” he said.
Shemane said the prevention of illicit mining and related crimes will continue relentlessly in the district.
