These were the words of deputy secretary of the ANC Youth League, Thandi Moraka.
She was speaking at the memorial service for Mam’ Winnie Madikizela-Mandela at Regina Mundi Church in Rockville, Soweto, yesterday.
She said Maine does not deserve to lead the youth league.
“Maine wants to be a cabinet minister by hook or by crook and that’s why he’s grovelling to President Cyril Ramphosa,” he said.
“We call on comrade Maine to resign as a matter of urgency.”
Moraka said this after Maine said he was introduced to the Guptas by North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo.
Maine said he was ready to reveal everything if he was asked to. He also pleaded with ANC supporters not to involve themselves in the matter, because he would be going to court alone.
Mahumapelo is known as Maine’s mentor.
Moraka also lashed out at former president Thabo Mbeki and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
“Thabo Mbeki never tasted the cruelty of the apartheid regime.
“Mbeki, if you hate Mam’ Winnie, you hate us. Church leaders, we ask you to pray for Archbishop Tutu’s repentance.
“We want Tutu to tell us what really happened at the TRC.”
