RUSTENBURG Local Municipality said the contractor was on site fixing the hydraulic valve system which was on the pipeline supplying water in Boitekong Ext 2,4,5,6 and 8.
The municipality spokesperson, Adrew Seome said they were confident that the contractor will complete the work successfully.
“During the interruption, Water Tankers will continue to be deployed in the area for the delivery of water until the situation has been resolved. We appeal to the community of Boitekong and surrounding areas to report vandalism. The Municipality would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.
“The interruption was due to vandalism. Preliminary investigations revealed that the vandalism was due to an illegal connection into the system which ended up affecting the entire area,” Seome said.
