A Hot Air Balloon has crashed into a tree in the Buffelsfontein area near the Buffelspoort dam in North West. Netcare 911 spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe said they have dispatched a helicopter with Emergency Care Practitioner and a Critical Care Assistant. “Netcare911 paramedics worked alongside the Hartebeespoort EMS paramedics at the scene. Netcare911 is airlifting a toddler from the scene to Johannesburg hospital. The child is being flown to a level 1 trauma facility in Johannesburg that caters for the intensive care of children under the age of 16 years old who have been subjected to serious physical trauma,” Mathe said.
She added that the reports from the scene indicate that there were at least fourteen people on board the Hot Air Balloon. “Only two adults and one child sustained injuries. One adult is in a critical condition and the other has sustained moderate injuries. They were both stabilised on the scene by paramedics from the Hartebeespoort EMS and other services before being transported to a nearby hospital for further taungdailynews@gmail.com |
