Two suspects aged 47 and 38 were arrested for stock theft during a joint operation in Klerksdorp. North West police spokesperson, Col Lieutenant Pelonomi Makau said the suspects were found to be in possession of 26 cattle and 18 sheep worth R169 000.
“The police urge livestock owners in Lichtenburg, Bloemhof and Wolmaransstad to contact Lieutenant Colonel Tshwanelo Galehose on 0823708509 for enquiries or identification. They are expected to appear in Klerksdorp Magistrate’s Court on Thursday,” Makau said.
The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane applauded members for their cooperation. Motswenyane said this resulted in the arrest of the suspects for stock theft which is one of the priorities in the province.
