Former Orlando Pirates coach Shaibu Amodu has passed away, just three days after his countryman Stephen Keshi’s death shocked Nigeria.

Amodu, who led Pirates in the second season of the Premier Soccer League in 1997/98, was the current technical director of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).

The 58-year-old had complained of chest pains on Friday night and passed away in his sleep, according to the NFF.

Amodu also had six spells in charge of the Super Eagles, the most recent as caretaker last year.

His death comes just days after Nigerian legend Keshi, who was also suspected to have suffered a heart-attack on Tuesday.

The 54-year-old had been tipped for a role with a PSL club before his passing.
