
POLICE are looking for suspects involved in a case of attempted armed robbery as well as an attempted murder that occurred along the N4 road near Brits in the early hours of Wednesday.
North West police spokesperson, Col Sabata Mokgwabone said an unconfirmed number of suspects fired shots at two Fidelity Security vehicles that were travelling along the N4 road towards Brits.
“It is alleged that the security officers returned fire. Three of security officers them were wounded in the process. A passing motorist was allegedly caught in the crossfire and got injured as a result.
“He was ferried to the nearest hospital along with security officers for medical attention. The suspects allegedly burnt one of their vehicles during the incident,” Mokgwabone said.
The suspects fled the scene empty-handed using another vehicle. There is no arrest at this stage.
Mokgwabone said the police urge anyone with information that can assist in the arrest of the suspects to contact Lieutenant Colonel Nkgodi Tjale on 082 546 0382.
