Durban – Police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder after one person was shot and killed at a restaurant in Florida Road in Morningside, Durban on Saturday.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Nqobile Gwala said a fight broke out between two groups of people in the early hours of the morning.

“They threw beer bottles at each other. Gunshots were also fired and one of the suspects pointed a firearm at an off-duty police officer who was in the restaurant.

“A 32-year-old suspect was fatally shot. Four suspects aged between 20 and 36 were arrested and charged with murder. Four firearms were also seized from the suspects.”

Gwala said the men would appear in court soon.
