KIMBERLEY- A 36-YEAR-OLD man was arrested in Kimberley CBD on Friday for being in possession of suspected stolen copper.
Northern Cape police spokersperson, Lieutentant Sergio Kock said the police received a tip-off about a man being in possession of suspected stolen copper worth R100 000.
“The police pounced on a suspect and searched his Isuzu Bakkie. A copper weighing 160kg was allegedly found stashed in the car.
“He could not account for the copper so police apprehended him. A Groblershoop man is expected to appear in Kimberly Magistrate’s Court soon,” Kock said.
Police also confiscated his vehicle as it form part of investigations after it was used during the alleged crime.
