Rustenburg – A man has been sentenced to eight years imprisonment by the Rustenburg Regional Court for killing another man following a fight over a boerewors.

Mpho Gift Segwe, 34, of Spruitfontein in Marikana near Rustenburg was convicted for killing Samuel Chawe on December 10, 2014.

He beat Chawe with a knobkerrie on the head and on the face during a fight over a boerewors.

The court heard that Chawe and his friend went to Segwe’s home and asked him food. Segwe grilled the boerewors for them, but when he served them food, Chawe complained that the boerewors was dirty as it had sand on it.
