BY KEDIBONE MOLAETSI
THE body of a 78 year-old man was exhumed by North West police in R24 road in Rustenburg on Friday. Provincial police spokesperson, Captain Paul Ramaloko said that the body was taken to government mortuary.
“According to our records, the man was killed in a car accident back in 2001. He was buried next to his house at the same farm. Paulus Masilo Noge was working as a farm worker on the same farm, and his reburial will be conducted soon,” Ramaloko said.
However Cosatu provincial spokesperson, Solly Phetoe called for another investigation for other graves that are 100m away from the Noge’s house. He said that farm workers continued to be mistreated by farm owners, and urged government and Human Rights Commission (HRC) to intervene.
“We want investigation to be conducted after another graves where found few metres from the Noge’s house. We would also like to advise farm workers to speak out against any abuse endured unto them. Farm workers continued to be ill-treated by farm owners, and that must come to a stop,” Phetoe said.
