NORTHERN Cape police are investigating a double murder after two friends were allegedly stabbed to death by the suspect.

Lieutenant Sergio Kock said Jacob Maragoe (19) an Michael Matheatau (24) were allegedly stabbed to death after Maragoe was engaged in an argument with an unknown man over a girlfriend.

“The incident took place at Valspan near Jan Kempdorp at a tavern. The suspect allegedly stabbed Maragoe in a chest and his friend, Matheatau tried to intervened,” Kock said.

He said the suspect also stabbed the friend and both men died on the scene.

The suspect was subsequently arrested by Jan Kempdorp police and will appear at Jan Kempdorp soon.
