Ottosdal: The MEC for the Department of Rural, Environment and Agricultural Development, Manketsi Tlhape will officially launch Youth in Agriculture Awards. These awards programme seek to encourage youth to actively participate in agricultural sector.

Through the Awards, the department would also like to engage young people to contribute and reinforce the departments’ role as one of the key provincial economic sectors. This official launch will also highlight their role young people play in food security and as well as combating the triple challenges of job creation, economic growth and poverty.

The official launch is set to present categories and criteria of the awards for which young people in the agricultural sector will compete for in the inaugural Awards Ceremony due next year.
