Galeshewe Police are investigating a case of possession of dagga after the arrest of a 31-year-old man.

Northern Cape police spokesperson lieutenant Sergio Kock said on Friday, at approximately 10:30am, the Galeshewe Cluster SAPS Crime Intelligence unit with the assistance of the Kimberley K9 unit followed up on information regarding dagga sales in the Santa-Centre area.

“Police raided the identified shanty and found 7 pokes of dagga on the suspect. A further 152 pokes and a shopping bag filled with dagga was found stashed in a store,” Kock said.

According to police, the estimated street value of the dagga is R3000.

The suspect is expected to appear at Galeshewe Magistrates Court soon.

The investigation continues.
