IT is not raining….but pouring between a mother and daughter over boyfriends. The hectic situation unfolded at Ganspan, near Jan-Kempdorp where a 38 year-old woman who works as corporal at South African National Defence Force (SANDF) accuses her daughter of practicing Satanism.
Revonia Mmami Mooketsi said she is gatvol of her daughter and went onto attain a protection order against her.
“My daughter is practising Satanism….she once confessed that there are people who instructed her to kill me, so that she gets graduated as one of them. Vanessa was acting strange since from last year and literally ordered me to paint her bedroom in black.
“She became pregnant and this year in April, I was forced to be transferred from Johannesburg where I was working so that I could monitor the situation. She has 8 month-old baby and still a pupil at Lanbou Hoerskool in Jan Kempdorp doing Grade 11.
Vanessa once grabbed her child and disappeared in night without telling anyone,” Revonia said.
However, Vanessa refutes the allegations leveled against her and said, her mother make up stories because the real issue here is that, her mother accuses her of stealing her boyfriends.
“I do not practise any Satanism; the issue here is that my mother is dating Ben 10s, now she accused me of stealing her boyfriends. There are two guys who proposed me, but I refused to be intimate with them. To my surprise, they arrived at our house and presented as my mom’s boyfriends.
“I tried to warn my mother because those boys were way younger than her, but what she did? She kicked me out of the house instead. She accused me of being intimate with one of them and said she saw our WhatsApp conversation,” Vanessa said.
Northern Cape Department of Education spokesperson, Ohentse Stander confirmed that there were problems at Mooketsi’s family.
“As the department, we are quite aware of the case involving Tshiamo who is a learner at Landbou Hoerskool in Jan Kempdorp. I must indicate that Tshiamo herself approached one of the teachers at the school in 2014 and reported that she had a spell that dictated that was pushing her to hurt people around her.
“The school then called her mother in and reported the matter to her. The school also referred the matter to ESS (Education Support Services) and Dr O`Connor visited the school as part of engaging and assessing the learner. It is unfortunate that the parent did not indicate that the learner left school during(2014) that time to give birth and as such, Dr O`Connor could not complete his sessions with the child. The child only came back in 2015” Stander said.
He said as department, they are still committed in helping the child, but there are domestic issues which are hampering their support process.
“As the department, we have advised the principal to refer the case to the social workers to resolve family dispute because for us to support the learner, we will need the support of her entire family,” Stander said.
Revonia went on to register a protection order against her daughter at Jan Kempdorp Police Station.
