A thirty-eight-year-old woman was critically injured following a stabbing incident in Chiawelo, Soweto late yesterday afternoon.

Netcare 911 paramedics were called for assistance after a woman made her way to a nearby medical facility after sustaining multiple stab wounds near a graveyard in Chiawelo, Soweto.

Upon paramedics’ arrival at the facility, they found the woman was in a critical condition and the Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift the critically injured woman to hospital for the urgent medical care that she required.

“Exact detail surrounding the cause of the stabbing incident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation” Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann said.
