Taung- North West MEC for Department of Education and Sports Development, Wendy Matsemela is set to meet with principals of underperforming schools in the province. The programme starts at Batlhaping Secondary School in the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati district on Tuesday.

According to the department, the MEC seeks to understand challenges facing the schools so that necessary measures are taken while it is early in the year.

Focus would also be put on Dinaledi schools that offer critical subjects like Mathematics and Science.

“At Batlhaping Secondary School, the MEC will engage with principals of underperforming schools and those Dinaledi schools in the area” Matsemela said in a statement.

“This will be followed by another meeting in Vryburg at Hoerskool Vryburg on Thursday” she said.
