A fight against stock-theft exacerbated in Taung

Pudimoe CPF joined hands with other stakeholders such as Taung Department of Agriculture and North West Department of Human settlements, Public Safety & Liaison, SAPS’s Vryburg Stock theft Unit to host Anti-stock theft campaign at Mathlako I and Mathlako II respectively as part of strategy to deal with increased stock theft cases reported around the said areas.

While delivering the purpose of the day CPF Chairperson Mr Maine urged the Community to desist from buying stolen goods and continue to help the Police with information on crime as their plan is to increase interaction between the Police and the Community as a way of building trust which will go a long way into reducing crime. Stock theft representative Capt Mayisela advised the Community to count their livestock regularly, report all stock theft case immediately to increase chances of recovery, mark their stock accordingly and to keep a controlled updated livestock register. Dine Chovu from Department of Public Safety encouraged the Community to show an interest in their safety by knowing their Police Station and the members who serve there, the community was also informed of the Department’s Complaints section where Complaints can be laid against SAPS members if Community members are not happy with services rendered or the manner in which service is being rendered.

“In closing Acting Station Commander invited the Community to first bring any dissatisfaction to the attention of the Station Commander before going to complain outside as the Station Commander’s office is always open to the Community” Pudimoe Station cluster spokesperson, Tebogo Thebe said.
