Pupils at Mpindweni Junior Secondary School outside Mthatha stopped eating their school meals after witnessing the cooks urinating into the buckets used for preparing and serving the food.
According to Dispatch Live, this was exposed when pupils were asked why they stopped eating the school meals.

The cooks allegedly regularly used the food buckets to urinate into since last year because the toilets are too far from the kitchen.

“We were told that they had been doing it for some time. We noticed that the children did not want to eat the food. When we heard what they were doing we called them [the cooks] in. They, of course denied it, but one of them admitted to using a basin to pee into,” said principal Emelda Pendu.
