TOURISM SERVICE EXCELLENCE BREEDS GROWTH IN THE SECTOR


The Department of Tourism in the North West will host the service excellence workshop in the Ngaka Modiri Molema district in a bit to make the province hospitable.

The Workshop will target frontline staff in all tourism products within the district, where officials will be taken through their paces on customer service and other frontline services.

The workshop aims at recapping the significance of delivering quality service, sharing information on acceptable service standards, entrenching the culture of delivering excellent services and improving the service level with the province.

“Officials will also be enlightened on sharing successful service excellence cases within the province and outside the province thus sharing practical quality service etiquettes” departmental spokesperson Dine Lolokwane said.

Lolokwane said the workshop will be in line with MEC Desbo Mohono’s call, that tourism product owners should give tourists a world class treatment, which will make them to consider coming back to our shores and recommending to other tourists what they have witnessed.

“We must practice and offer excellent services to our guests, in that way we will be making sure that we contribute positively to the growth of tourism in the province,” said Mohono.

The workshop which has been nomadic in the four districts of the province will end up with the last one in Bojanala.

Two Taung men nabbed for hijacking

TAUNG- Two people were arrested after they allegedly hijacked a white woman at Taung CBD on Friday.

According to our source, two men pounced at a woman and demanded money and other belongings.

Amid the incident, it is alleged that two men robbed her undisclosed amount of money and other belongings.

According to one of police officers, they recovered few things like cellphone and handbag.

North West police were not available for any comment regarding the matter as it is not yet recorded.

The suspects were arrested and taken to Taung Police Station.

MEC GAOLAOLWE OFFER CONDOLENCES TO MACHUISA FAMILY IN OTTOSDAL


Ottosdal- North West MEC for Social Development Fenny Gaolaolwe on Thursday visited a bereaved family in Ottosdal to offer her condolences following the death of a child who alleged to have eaten a chicken meat dumped by a farmer.

According to the family member who spoke on condition of anonymity Lebogang Machuisa 10, died on Friday, and a number of children who also ate the chicken meat allegedly dumped near the local crèche by the farmer were treated at a clinic for food poisoning.

After being taken to the clinic, six of the children were transferred to the Klerksdorp Hospital.
 
Keitumetse Mathiba(3) and Sandile Mpisa(7) were subsequently discharged. Kelebogile Machuisa, 8, and Eva Machuisa(11) were still being treated for abdominal cramps and diarrhoea. Johannes Medupe(13) and Aaron Lebusa(7) were recovering and would be sent home soon.

During her visit to the family yesterday, Gaolaolwe offered her heartfelt condolences and brought social relief of distress aid in the form of groceries for the burial.

Since the news broke about this gruesome incident , Gaolaolwe said she had deployed social workers to compile a home circumstance report and offer traumatic counselling and support to the family.

“I have also request the Tswaing local municipality to offer a grave for free to the family,” Gaolaolwe said, adding that deceased family should allow the law to take its course.

The deceased will be buried on Saturday at Letsopa cemetery.
