Two nabbed for livestock theft in Reivilo

REIVILO- Two men were arrested in connection of stock-theft at Reivilo on Wednesday, says North West police.

According to police, two suspects were arrested at the livestock auction in Reivilo, near Taung.

“Two suspects were arrested in Reivilo during auction. It is alleged that the two stole some cattle from Taung and came to sell them at the auction.

“Reivilo police received a tip-off about the said suspects. They followed that information very carefully and went to the auction” said our mole.

The suspects were arrested immediately after they tried to sell suspected stolen cattle.

The perpetrators were charged for being in possession of suspected stolen property.

A father dies in a horrific accident near Pudumoe

PUDUMONG- North West police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a horrific accident on N18 between Pudumong and Taung.

According to North West police spokesperson captain Pelonomi Makau, a red Toyota Hilux with three occupants was involved in a ‘head on’ collision against Almera Nissian on Wednesday at around 14:00.

“Two vehicles were involved in a head on collision after Almera Nissan driver who was traveling alone tried to overtake another car. He allegedly failed in his attempts and the Toyota Hilux driver from Morokweng village near Taung, tried to avoid the oncoming traffic and swerved off the road” Makau said.

It is alleged that the father was with his two children in the car on their way to Mahikeng to help his kids with registration at North West University.

The father who was the driver of the Toyota Hilux allegedly passed away on the scene after he suffered fatal injuries and the driver of the Almera Nissan was taken to Taung hospital for medical attention.

Police investigations continue.
