TAUNG- A 29 year-old man is expected to appear at Taung Magistrate Court on Monday for murder after he hanged his 5 year-old son.
Boitumelo Seoposengwe,29, was subsequently arrested three weeks ago at his home in Maphoitshile village, near Taung after being involved in an argument with his girlfriend.
According to information the couple were engaged in a fierce argument and later on, Boitumelo asked his child Remoratile Sehemo to visit him.
North West police spokesperson colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said the suspect was arrested after he handed himself over to the police.
“Boitumelo allegedly entered his bedroom and hanged the boy from the roof rafters. The atrocity was seen by one of family members and informed the other members. The suspect fled the scene afterwards, but returned at the later stage where he was arrested” Mokgwabone said.
The suspect appeared before court last week Monday, but his case was postponed until Monday for formal bail application.
Seoposengwe opted to be represented by legal aid attorney and the case will resume today.
