Men needs to protect their families to build a better nation – says Molapisi

Community Safety and Transport Management MEC Gaoage Molapisi called on fathers, husbands and men in general to take responsibility of building happy families and act against women and child abuse.

He said men needs to protect their families, women and children in general against abusive monsters. “A child on the street is your child and a woman in the street is your mother and your sister. Real men don’t rape, real men don’t beat their wives, and real men don’t abuse their children.

We need to stand up and protect women and children, protecting them we would be protecting the future of the country and building a caring South Africa. We must be men enough and act against this decease, men who abuses women and children are sick and they need a serious psychological help. We need the services of MEC Dr Magome Masike who is responsible for health otherwise they should not be part of this society, they must be locked up where they belong,” said Molapisi who further encouraged communities to report any form of abuse taking place.

“Most abusive activities take place within our homes, families and communities should help expose offenders. Tell somebody today if you are facing abuse, speak now, tell your teacher, your friend, your priest, tell your mayor, the Premier wants to know, Presidents wants to know and I want to know and take action,” he said.

The departmental MEC called upon communities to restrain from alcohol and drug abuse during this year’s festive season.

He said most of criminal activities, such as woman and child abuse, rape and domestic violence are perpetuated by alcohol and drug abuse.Let us all men be protectors and providers, let us be responsible as God has created us to be protectors and head of families.
