Johannesburg – Gauteng police took in two men for questioning on Tuesday for the Sunday night shooting of Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa.
The Star was reliably informed by independent police sources that Tuesday’s publication of identikits of the possible suspects had led them to the two men.
Police have offered a R250 000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killers.

Kimberley- Northern Cape police are looking for a 46 year-old man who allegedly raped a 18 year-old girl in Kimberley.
Lieutenant Olebogeng Tawana said the atrocity took place on 10 September 2014 at the victim’s house.
“A 46 year-old man was once seen at Tansit Camp and Tambo Square near Galeshewe” Tawana said.
Mazwe Buhle Khumalo is fugitive and Kimberley FCS request the public to assist in tracing him.

On the heels of comparable guidelines for men, part two of the first-ever study documenting how the spine moves during sex has released recommendations for women on how to put the pleasure back in lovemaking.
The team that hails from Waterloo University says it depends on the kind of back pain afflicting the patient.

Women who experience pain upon stretching to touch their toes or after extended periods of sitting are considered flexion-intolerant, and the researchers recommend they try spooning or doggy-style sex in which the woman supports herself with her hands rather than elbows.
On the contrary, women who are extension-intolerant, meaning that they experience pain upon arching their backs or lying on their stomachs, should stick to the missionary position and place a pillow under their spine for support.
Spooning was once recommended for the extension-intolerant, but the Waterloo study has disproved this since the first wave of its findings was revealed, recommending doggy-style sex for men looking to avoid back pain.
“Traditionally, spooning was recommended by physicians to all individuals with back pain because it was thought to reduce nerve tension and load on the tissues,” says Natalie Sidorkewicz, a PhD candidate at Waterloo who led the study. “But when we examined spine motion and muscle activity, we found that spooning can actually be one of the worst positions for certain types of back pain.”
Ten healthy males and females performed coitus in five pre-established positions, including doggy-style while supporting the body with the elbows and again supporting the body with the hands.
They also performed two variations of the missionary position, one of which required increased flexion at the hips and knees. The final position observed was spooning, deemed “sidelying” by the researchers.
Both infrared and electromagnetic motion capture systems were used to assess how subjects moved their spines during intercourse.
They did not take note of fators such as condom use or hormone-based birth control that could have affected genital sensitivity and therefore movement during lovemaking.

Johannesburg- Sam Meyiwa is headed to Johannesburg to fetch all of his son’s belongings including his two cars and ID which Kelly Khumalo is apparently refusing to part with.
An angry and grieving Meyiwa Senior told Drum magazine that Khumalo would not allow him access to Meyiwa’s ID.

“I am going to Johannesburg to try and reclaim all Senzo’s assets including his two cars.”
Meyiwa is also after his son’s identity document which the weekly claims is with Khumalo.

Lichtenburg – The Bokone Bophirima Provincial Government will prioritise the delivery of decent accommodation for older people in Boikhutso location’s informal settlement outside Lichtenburg town. Premier Supra Mahumapelo who visited some of the impoverished elderly people residing in this area, said there is a dire need for delivery of proper houses to be prioritised. The Premier said this today, Tuesday, 28th October, following his interaction with communities about service delivery issues affecting their day-to-day lives.
Worried by the communities’ living conditions, Mahumapelo committed his administration to ensuring that as part of its effort to better people’s lives, Boikhutso and Itekeng informal settlements are considered for inclusion in the Province’s future development plans.
“People here do not have access to clean water, electricity, roads and proper housing, and engagements with them must be intensified to see how we can work together to improve their lives”, said Premier Mahumapelo who added that this must be done in line with Vision 2030 of the National Development Plan.
Leading activities for implementation of Setsokotsane Programme in Wards 1, 15 and 21 in Ditsobotla Local Municipality, Premier Mahumapelo who was accompanied by some Members of the Executive Council and the Mayor of Ditsobotla Local Municipality, also met with Kgosi Zibi, Kgosi Seatlholo, Kgosi Serobatse and Kgosi Molete at Gamaloka village, to discuss the Gamaloka communities’ service delivery challenges since their restitution.
Pleading for support and integrated delivery of services to this newly established village, Kgosi Molete told the Premier that critical to their needs is provision of water; a need which Premier Mahumapelo promised to give the necessary attention.
As part of the day’s programme, the Premier and his entourage paid a courtesy visit to Tshwaraganang and Tshepang Day Care centres in Itekeng Township respectively, where he handed over learning and playing equipments, tables, chairs, mattresses and blankets for the children. During this visit, Premier Mahumapelo noticed the need for these centres to be expanded to accommodate all children in the area.
Setsokotsane is a strategic programme that seeks to integrate provincial and local efforts to address service delivery problems and backlogs in line with the Rebranding, Repositioning and Renewal of the Province strategy. In achieving this goal, Setsokotsane will ensure complete alignment of the municipalities’ Integrated Development Plans (IDP’s) with the Provincial Government’s Annual Performance Plans (APP’s), this to ultimately position municipalities as key service delivery drivers.
Since its launch in Ngaka Modiri Molema District early this month, Setsokotsane programme activities have been implemented at Mahikeng Local Municipality, and are this week being taken to Ditsobotla Local Municipality.

Northern Cape Police Provincial Functional Fitness team participated in the SAPS National Championships for functional fitness that was held in Bloemfontein between 19 and 24 October 2014.
The Northern Cape team consisted of 24 members and competed against teams from the other provinces as well as a team from the SAPS head office.
Participants were expected to compete in an obstacle course consisting of 19 obstacles for men and 15 obstacles for women.
The obstacles were set up on a 500m length track and members of different age and weight categories participated for the fastest time.
“The Northern Cape team won 14 gold medals,6 silver and 4 bronze medals. Constable Selogile Kwes was also selected to represent the SAPS National team which will be participating against the SANDF National Team during 2015” lieutenant Sergio Kock said.
The Northern Cape Coach Warrant Officer Cecil Visagie was also selected to coach the SAPS National Team. The Northern Cape male relay team also took first place in the overall relay event.
Functional fitness is aimed at assisting police officials to develop and maintain their fitness and health, thus enabling and encouraging them to live healthy lifestyles.
Kock said overall work performance is also enhanced through good health and fitness.

Itsoseng – A well-defined collective effort to restore the consistent supply of clean water in Itsoseng Township outside Lichtenburg town received an overwhelming support from the township residents, this following their engagement with Premier Supra Mahumapelo.
The engagement which was arranged as part of the much lauded Setsokotsane Programme took place on Wednesday at the Itsoseng water reservoir site.
Premier Mahumapelo told residents that Eskom was already on site repairing and reconnecting the damaged boreholes, after which re-drilling and reasonable supply of water will commence.
Moreover, Mahumapelo confirmed that Sedibeng Water will by next week be taking over the operations and maintenance of water infrastructure in this area.
“While we will not shy away from our responsibility to provide basic services such as water to citizens of our Province, we also vow to intensify our clampdown on acts of theft and vandalism of water infrastructure”, warned Premier Mahumapelo who urged communities to look after infrastructure developed by government and must hasten to report criminal acts to the police.
Premier Mahumapelo urged community members to work with government in ensuring that the supply of clean water is not interrupted, saying the Bokone Bophirima Provincial Government which is working on this water problem project with the Department of Water and Sanitation and the Ditsobotla Local Municipality, will not rest until the water reservoirs and seven boreholes in this area are fully operational.
“We are confident that with your intervention Premier, our right to access water without any limitation will soon be enjoyed by everyone in Itsoseng”, a community representative told Premier Mahumapelo.
Setsokotsane is a programme that seeks to put into practice integrated planning of service delivery programmes and activities, while also giving government the platform to engage with local communities and solve their problems on the spot.

Rustenburg- The fight against drug trafficking gained success when police arrested three suspects for possession of dagga on Wednesday along R24 road near Olifantsnek outside Rustenburg.
Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said that the suspects aged between 35 and 47 were arrested after a motorist became suspicious about the activity that was taking place along the road.
“The incident was reported to Flying Squad members who were on patrol along that route, and they responded swiftly to the call. According to the information, the suspects were found loading bags into a Toyota Quantum” colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that bags were containing dagga.
The suspects, [two men and a woman] were arrested for being in possession of seven bags of dagga weighing 165 kg with estimated street value of R100 000.
The suspects will appear in Rustenburg Magistrates Court on Friday.
The North West Acting Provincial Commissioner; Major General Jacob Tsumane commended the members for their swift reaction as well as the tip-off that led to apprehension of the suspects.
“We really appreciate the support we are getting from the broader community because it is only through their co-operation that we will win the fight against crime”, said Major General Jacob Tsumane.
