Mahumapelo sends well wishes to Matric Class of 2014

Mahikeng- North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo says the Provincial Government is positive that the efforts done and commitment shown by the Department of Education and Sports Development and all education stakeholders during the current academic year are good enough to enable the Province to reach its set goal of 90% pass rate, and maintaining its number one position in the country.

Mahumapelo said this while wishing the Province’s more than 22 000 matriculants good luck, as they begin writing their final examinations today.

Encouraging these matriculants to work hard and strive for best results, Premier Mahumapelo said he is adamant that the First Push campaign rolled out by the Provincial Department will contribute greatly to the realisation of the broader aim of improving the quality of the Province’s matriculation results.

“As we wish our matriculants all of the best during their final examinations, we urge parents, teachers and the general society to continue giving our learners the necessary support, as it has been the case throughout their schooling years”, said Premier Mahumapelo who remains confident that the Class of 2014 will also make the North West Province proud.

The North West Province scored the biggest improvement last year as it upped its results by 7.7%, resulting in a pass rate of 87.2%.
