North West MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management Gaoage Molapisi will officially launch the annual October Transport Month at Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality.
After the media briefing, MEC will address the North West and Free State traffic law enforcement officers at the R30 Road near Vaal River Bridge at the borders of North West and Free State.
“The MEC is expected to set targets, expectations and outline activities scheduled for this year’s campaign” department spokesperson Daddy Sebolecwe said.
Transport Month was officially declared in 2005 at Transport Lekgotla aiming at raising awareness on the important role of transport in the economy, to solicit participation from civil society and business in providing a more affordable, safer, accessible and reliable transport system.
