The Ngaka Modiri Molema education district chose its ten finalists who will carry its aspirations at the provincial National Teacher Awards (NTAs) next month.

The finalists were announced during a function held in Mahikeng on Wednesday afternoon.

The district made national headlines early this year after it came out as the second best in terms of matric results for last year and authorities seek to build on that momentum.

Out of 30 nominees, the district selected 10 teachers who will fight for honours with their counterparts from three other districts in the province.
