Taung- The case against four accused who were arrested by Taung Police over assault was postponed by Taung Magistrate Court on Thursday.
Kondwani Koloane, Kealeboga Chomi, Ronny Mosepele and Johannes Makaota were briefly appeared before court on charges of assault.
They allegedly attacked Ditiro Mosinki during a scuffle after they said some of the community members were employed illegally.
Some of dissenting group accused Ward councillor Toloki Tlhaganyane of disparity. They allege that those who were hired, were Tlhaganyane’s allies and a correct procedure was not followed in hiring them.
Mosinki lay a charge of assault against the accused and they were released on a warning after they subsequently appeared before court.
The water-pipes project is pending at Ntswahatshe, Moretele, Khaukhwe and other regions but the community accused Tlhaganyane of divergence after it was delayed.
The agreement was reached between community members regarding those who were hired illegal to be removed, however they took the matter to Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration(CCMA) for intervention.
CCMA ordered a contractor to reinstates those who were removed.
“A normal hiring process is been conducted at Tribal offices after as per agreement, but those who were hired did not follow that” Kondwani Koloane said.
The case will be postponed until 15 September 2014.
