Taung- South Africans celebrated the life of world icon, the late Nelson Mandela on Friday. Mandela’s selflessness has been celebrated through out the world and most people spent 67 minutes helping those in need.
North West’s most influential Dj, Blondie “Nation” Mokgwabone played his part by donating a barbed wire to surround the Nhole cemetery.
Dj Nation is one of the most famous and celebrated Djs in South Africa. He said he donated a barbed wire as part of his social responsibility. “I wanted to show a spirit of selflessness, unity and voluteerism. I decided to dedicate my time by participating in providing a visual section around the cemetery by fencing the area” he outlines.
Dj Nation who was born and bred in Nhole village, near Taung made his name across South Africa. He host his own event called “Dj Nation Annual Bash” where he brings “galaxy of stars” within the entertainment industry to grace the event.
Mokgwabone said Mandela Day means a lot to him. “Every person has the ability and responsibility to make a positive change. No matter how small the action, the aim is to practice a Ubuntu/Batho Pele formula” he said.
Dj Nation said changing lives is the most important thing. In January he donated shoes and school uniforms to needy school kids around Taung. He said by changing one life, one changes too many lives of fellow South Africans.
Taung is a remoted area where Poverty, Unemployment, Drug and Alcohol Abuse are at the forefront.
Mokgwabone urged local people and businessmen/women to show love to those in need as that will change the lifestyle of people for the better.
“Motho Ke Motho Ka Batho, so let’s sure more love to our people. It does not matter how big or small that help can be, as long it brings smile to someone who need it” he concludes.-TDN
