Rustenburg-What started off as a film about platinum mining, its centrality to the South African economy and its ability to generate huge amounts of wealth, against the backdrop of crushing poverty experienced by mining communities, took a new direction on August 16 when a tragic clash between police and striking mine workers led to the killing of 44 people by the South African Police Service.
