Bafana coach Igesund sacked

Johannesburg- Local is no longer lekker for SAFA as they are set to appoint a foreign coach. The anticipation of who will take over as Bafana coach will soon be over as SAFA decision makers are set to meet on Saturday.

The two number that tops the list are Carlos Queiroz and Stephen Keshi.

Carlos Queiroz
Born Carloz Manuel Brito Leal Queiroz born (1 May 1958) the Portugal football manager is currently in charge of the Iranian national team. A former Real Madrid manager has also been the manager of the Portuguese national team and Alex Ferguson’s assistant manager at English club Manchester United. He has qualified three national teams to the world cup,those being South Africa in 2002, Portugl in 2010 and Iran in 2014.

Stephen Keshi
Born Stephen Okechukwu Kesh (24 January 1964) the Nigerian team manager has managed the Nigeria national team since 2011. He is one of only two people along with Egypt’s Mahmoud El-Gohory to have won the African Cup of Nation as both player and a coach.

Between 2004-2006 Keshi coached the Togo national team,unexpectedly bringing them to their first world cup tournament,Germany 2006. Having secured Togo’s unlikely qualification, he was promptly replaced by German coach Otto Pfister to the world cup finals,after Togo showed a dismal performance and failed to advance to the knock out stage in 2006 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
