Maloyi said the motorbikes and vehicles will operate on the N4 and N12 highways including all other national roads in the province.
“These bikes will be used by traffic officials when enforcing the law on daily basis. During this entire campaign we are going to quickly respond to any reckless driving, overloading, speeding, and incidents reported,” said Maloyi during the recent official launch of the annual Easter Arrive Alive launch at Ikageng stadium in Potchefstroom.
The departmental MEC made a special appeal to taxi associations and bus companies to assist the province to reduce fatalities on the roads and further implant discipline to their members to ensure safety of the people in the province.
More than 18 taxis have already been discontinued from the road in different taxi ranks by traffic authorities across the province during special operations on public transport fitness.
Maloyi said the will continue visiting taxi ranks and bus companies to ensure that all the public transport companies adhere to the rules. “We are going to continue making sure that our people are transported with roadworthy taxis and buses, they must have proper documentation,” concluded Maloyi.

Baxter: Mphela will regain his form
Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has explained why Katlego Mphela has found the going tough since joining the club in January.
‘Killer’ has made three starts, two in the Nedbank Cup and one in the League, while coming off the bench a further six times, and to date he’s yet to get his first goal in Amakhosi colours.
However, Baxter is not overly concerned about Mphela’s lack of firepower at the moment and insists the marksman will come good down the line.
