Love triangle leads man to death

Johannesburg – A man was stabbed to death on Sunday during an alleged fight over a woman at a hostel in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

The 35-year-old man was stabbed 14 times around 15:00 and died instantly, Captain Thulani Zwane said.

“The victim was at Jacobs hostel when he was approached by the suspect. It is alleged that the two had an argument over a love triangle that led to the stabbing of the victim to death.”

Zwane said the suspect fled the scene after the incident.

Angry residents allegedly set alight two rooms belonging to the suspect and his girlfriend at the hostel.

A case of murder and arson was opened, Zwane said.
