The Rustenburg Flying Squad members arrested two suspects for illegal possession of dagga on Sunday.
Police were allegedly patrolling on R556 road between Lekgalong and Barseba villages when they spotted three suspicious vehicles all with Swaziland registration plate numbers travelling the opposite direction with high speed.
They immediately made a U-turn and followed them.
“The police managed to stop only one vehicle, searched it and found four big heavy bags with dagga, estimated at R200 000” colonel Emelda Setlhako said.
A 22 year-old Swazi National was arrested.
After more questioning the suspect took the police to his house at Seraleng near Meriting where an 18 year-old girl who is allegedly the suspect’s girlfriend was found with dagga parcelled in a plastic estimated at R5000.
“They were both arrested and detained at Boitekong police station for illegal possession of dagga. They are expected to appear in Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Monday” said Setlhako.-TDN
